about Izzy
Thank you for checking out my website and new book, Fearless in Alaska.
Before we start, I want to be clear up one thing: I adamantly deny any resemblance to Abigail Vertuccio (reluctant clairvoyant and current operator of Alaska Virgin Air, her grandmother's rural air service). Even if I did grow up in New Jersey to a flamboyant mother of Italian descent.
True. Like Abbey, I was a bit of a wanderer until I settled down in a little cabin outside of Fairbanks. But I have to insist. That, too, is mere coincidence.
In the end, I stayed in Alaska because it's a place where everyone and anyone fits in, and that's not such a bad thing. That and I can't get enough of the humongous Alaska skies and the midnight sun in the summer.
In the winter, I spend my time writing and praying summer will arrive before cabin fever forces me to jump in my motor home and take off for Reno.*
* I should clarify. I don't really have a motor home, althogh sometimes I wish I did.
